Mike is a graduate of the University of Illinois  in Champaign, Illinois.  Mike graduated #1 in his class from this highly regarded accounting program, and received the University's Bronze Tablet award in 1983.  Mike was also given the Elijah Watt Sells award from the AICPA for outstanding performance on the CPA exam.  Graduate work towards an MBA was done at the University of Chicago.
Early in his career, Mike worked in two of the Big Eight public accounting firms as an auditor and computer specialist, and also in Entrepreneurial Accounting Services consulting on accounting, systems and procedures and preparing income taxes.  Mike worked for Fortune 500 companies in accounting and accounting management, serving the private sector as a Controller and as a Compliance Officer specializing in internal accounting controls and IT controls, as well as working with SEC and other compliance issues.   He also served in non-profit agencies, serving as Controller for public housing and as Treasurer for a major non-profit in southern Arizona.

Recently, Mike was certified as a gold Quickbooks Proadvisor.  He passed the IRS' RTRP exam in 2011 and is one of Arizona's first Registered Tax Return Preparers.
